World Book Night

WORLD was the operative word when the Hubbards Hills Trust hosted an inaugural World Book Night event at the Louth beauty spot early in March. Mrs Margaret Williams, pictured front left, is very soon to emigrate to New Zealand and is delighted to be able to take a copy of Alan Bennett’s “A Life Like Other People’s” with her to her new home. And by coincidence, chatting at the book launch, it transpired that Mrs Sheila Evans, pictured with her grandchild sitting patiently in the pushchair, actually knows the small town she will be moving to having visited it only four years ago on a visit to North Island! Also pictured outside the 1907 shelter donated to Louth by the then MP Sir Robert Perks are Hubbards Hills fundraiser Patrick Webb, his son Joe Webb, Mrs Dot Webb and the Hubbards Hills Trust Secretary Jill Makinson-Sanders who organised the event. She was delighted with the response and reports that all 48 copies of the touching family memoir have now gone to very good homes!
